What behaviors can we address together?

Understanding and navigating common “dog things”

Maybe your dog greets visitors by jumping and mouthing them, barks at everything that passes by your home, forgets you exist when you’re on walks together, grabs food off the counters…

Cooperative care

Maybe your dog has concerns about their body being touched. They might benefit from muzzle training, and/or learning how to opt in to things like grooming, injections, harness wearing…

Aggressive and “reactive” behaviors

Maybe your dog uses their behavior to make things go away, by growling, lunging, barking, or biting. These behaviors may be directed at people, dogs, bikes, other pets in your home…

Coming soon - Dynamic Dog assessment

available in-person and virtually via Zoom

The way we behave is inextricably linked to the way we feel. The same is true for our dogs.

Research suggests that up to 80% of behavior cases have an underlying pain component. Dogs who are sore, stiff, painful, itchy, uncomfortable, or otherwise ‘ouchie’ are more likely to display reactive, aggressive, overaroused, compulsive, and other maladaptive behaviors.

If we aren’t feeling well, we can take some ibuprofen, rearrange our schedules, tell our friends/family that we need some space, call the doctor and explain exactly where it hurts, etc. Our dogs cannot advocate for themselves in the same ways. They learn how to compensate for pain by adjusting their posture, gait, activities, and affect. They may try to tell us that something isn’t right, but we miss it.

Or maybe you notice that something is definitely off. You’ve tried taking your dog to the vet, but they’re given the “all clear”. But still, training isn’t progressing the way it should, your dog struggles in daily life, and you’re feeling lost.

It’s incredibly difficult for your vet to notice pain in a clinic setting. The signs can be subtle to the untrained eye, and your dog likely doesn’t want to show it in a stressful veterinary environment. Pain manifests in all sorts of ways that Dynamic Dog professionals are specifically trained to spot.

Investing in a Dynamic Dog assessment will give you exactly what you need to advocate for your dog’s care. You’ll be equipped with professional observations and supporting evidence, conveniently packaged into a written report plus an annotated video. You’ll be on the right path to getting your dog the help they need and living a more peaceful life together.
